Mario Bruderhofer is a sound engineer working in classical music and Jazz. His practice is centered around musical and artistic collaboration with musicians and especially concerned with realizing their personal interpretation of their works. His trained ear and broad range of musical and technical skills enable him to capture these works in the most authentic and aesthetically cohesive way possible. In a live context, he employs subtle sonic adjustments to the acoustic setting and aims to retain a high degree of fidelity in translating the music to the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2022, he graduated with distinction from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), studying with Andreas Werner, Daniel Dettwiler and Andreas Neresheimer. During his master studies, he was a research assistant at the Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology at ZHdK. Working as a resident sound engineer for the research project “Performing Live Electronic Music”, he was responsible for working with and gaining insight into valuable data, period documents and interpretation guides of historically significant works of the post-war period for ensemble or solo performer and live electronics.
In 2019, he received the Hirschmann Foundation’s annual grant, a unique scholarship which is awarded to bachelor’s degree students with outstanding performances.
Since July 2024, he has been working part-time as a sound engineer at SRF, primarily producing concert recordings for SRF2 Kultur (classical & jazz) and SRF Musikwelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mario Bruderhofer’s creative practice as a musician and sound engineer is informed by a multifaceted interest in early and modern\/postmodern music. He continues to harbour a deep fascination with folk, popular and electronic musics.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
